Position Summary and Responsibilities

The principle responsibilities of this position are to install,calibrate,repair and perform preventative maintenance of laboratory analytical instrumentation/equipment. Duties include:

  • Working directly with clients to troubleshoot, diagnose and complete repair of a wide variety of laboratoryanalytical equipment.
  • Disassembles, inspects, cleans, repairs, calibrates, tests and performs periodic maintenance of speciality equipment.
  • Operates electronic test equipmentusingmulti-meters and leak testers.
  • Inspects, evaluates and determines necessary modifications, performs complex repairs or removal of instruments or devices that need overhauling during scheduled maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot/service or resolve problems while performing unscheduled work.
  • Records and reports abnormal function or out oftolerance conditions of equipment and initiates corrective action and documentation.
  • Locates part sources, estimates costs and purchases parts as required.
  • Reinstalls, tests,evaluates,calibrates, and maintains or devices upon completion of repairs.
  • Documents daily maintenance activity, repairs and other work performed.
  • Communicates with customer's staff for calibration, repairs and operations of equipment as necessary.
  • Writes equipment, maintenanceand calibration procedures.
Qualifications

Two year degree, scientific field of study preferred or equivalent related work experience. Five years of experience in analytical instrumentation and or lab experience calibrating, maintaining and repairing equipment. Working knowledge ofcomputers and laboratory software.Must be a team player.

Agilent 1100,1200 and 1260 LC's

Agilent 6890,7890,6850 GC's
